Passport
A Passport is an official government-issued travel document that verifies a person’s identity and nationality for international travel. It is required for visiting foreign countries and serves as a valid proof of identity, address, and citizenship. In India, passports are issued by the Ministry of External Affairs through the Passport Seva system.
Required Documents
- Aadhaar Card
- PAN Card
- Proof of address (Voter ID Card / Electricity Bill / Water Bill / Bank Passbook / Gas Connection Bill / Rent Agreement)
- Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate / PAN Card / Driving License / HSLC Marksheet / Certificate)
- Passport Size Photograph
For Minor Applicant
- Birth Certificate
- Parent’s Aadhaar Card
- Parent’s Passport (if available)
- Address proof in parent’s name accepted
- Joint Declaration
For Married Applicant
- Marriage Certificate
- Annexure J (Joint Declaration)
For Tatkal Passport
- Same basic documents
- Additional verification / supporting documents
- Annexure form if applicable
Important Note
- Carry original documents + self-attested photocopies to Passport Seva Kendra (PSK).
- Aadhaar is commonly used for both ID and address verification.
Processing Time
The approval time depends on local authorities. You will be notified once your certificate is approved.
- Normal: 15-30 Days
- Tatkal: 1-7 Days
Application Fees
- Fresh Passport (36 Pages): Normal Fee ₹1,500 & Tatkal Fee ₹3,500
- Fresh Passport (60 Pages): Normal Fee ₹2,000 & Tatkal Fee ₹4,000
- Minor Passport (Below 18 Years): Normal Fee ₹1,000 & Tatkal Fee ₹3,000
- Lost/Damaged Passport (36 Pages): Normal Fee ₹3,000 & Tatkal Fee ₹5,000
- Police Clearance Certificate (PCC): Normal Fee ₹500
